The E-Commerce and Web
Design Program
Interested in computers, the Internet, and business? In today's knowledge
economy one of the fastest growing job sectors is in Information Technology
(IT). The E-Commerce program prepares students to be flexible IT professionals.
The program begins with Certified Internet Webmaster courses where students learn how to
build professional e-commerce sites for businesses. In addition to their
degrees, students can also earn a private Webmaster certification from ProSoft Inc., the world's largest certifier of Internet Webmasters. The
following courses are part of the E-Commerce and Web Design degree at Hocking
College. Not only will you obtain a two-year degree but you can also obtain
a Master Web Designer certification from ProSoft

In today's world employers not
only expect web designers to create sites but expect them to know how to connect
them with databases, market the sites, secure customers' information, and
understand the legal environment surrounding e-commerce.
The E-Commerce program teaches
all these skills and more. Students learn the laws that govern the Internet,
proven e-marketing techniques, web market research techniques, e-business
processes, and backend design issues such as shipping, database connections,
security, internetworking and setting up credit card transactions.
